Reductil (sibutramine),an anti obesity drug for weight management and obesity is now being removed from the Philippine market. This after the news that Reductil (sibutramine) was removed in the US market due to increase in the rate of non fatal heart attacks and strokes.
Abbott Philippines already issued trade letters about the product removal from the market. And that patients taking sibutramine are advised to talk to their doctors for any questions. For any suspected adverse reactions do not hesitate to report to Abbott or FDA (Philippine Food and Drug Administration.
